The "Jianshiren" site was originally called Giant Ape Cave, commonly known as Dragon Bone Cave, and is located in Mazaping Village, Gaoping Town, Jianshi County. The stratigraphic age of "Jianshiren" is between 1.95 million and 2.15 million years ago, which is the intermediate link of human evolution from ape to human. The site of "Jianshiren" is the first fossil site of Homo erectus and great apes found in China, and it is the only area in the world where such fossils are found at higher latitudes, which has extremely important scientific value. The discovery of "Jianshiren" is a major challenge to the traditional theory of human origin. It is of great significance in archaeology. It also provides valuable information for the search for human origin in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and the Qingjiang River Basin.
